Samuel is the Head of Internal Audit Department. He is responsible for evaluating internal controls at FirstBanC Financial Services to ensure effective and efficient operations, compliance with applicable laws and regulations and reliable financial reporting. He also provides a consulting service, advising management on how to improve systems and processes. Samuel has extensive experience in external audit, process reviews, financial and management reporting, taxation, internal audit and risk management.
Apart from practicing in an accounting firm as External Auditor, He has experience in the hospitality, manufacturing, facility management, non-governmental organisation and the downstream petroleum industry. He worked as Business/Strategic Analyst at Association of Oil Marketing Companies of Ghana (AOMCs) where he joined the team improve performance of the industry such as an increase in margin for Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), refund of cross subsidies on petroleum products by the Government of Ghana and many more. Prior to joining FirstBanC, Samuel worked at World Vision International, Ghana as the Internal Audit Manager. He received an award for his contribution to the development of a wide risk assessment program in the area of risk management and Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs (HEA) to be used globally at the Global Audit Conference in Jakarta on October 2014.He has both local and international audit experience.
Samuel is a product of the University of Professional Studies (formerly I.P.S). He holds an MBA from Wisconsin International University College and a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, (ACCA) UK, Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Ghana and a final level of candidate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana. He is currently pursuing the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Certification from USA.
