FirstBanC Financial Services Ltd (FirstBanC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Amenyo Setordzie as Managing Director of the Company. His appointment takes effect from October 1, 2016.
Mr. Amenyo replaces Mr. Samuel Asiedu who having worked passionately in the company since 2010, steps down as the Managing Director on September 30, 2016 for a different role within the First Group.
Mr. Amenyo Setordzie until his appointment was the Executive Director of Strategic Debt Solutions Limited. He initially joined UMB Investment Holdings Limited (UMB-IHL) as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining UMB-IHL he was the Chief Executive Officer of EGAS Capital Limited, in charge of the overall strategic and operational directions of the Company. His role also encompasses deal origination, and execution, structured finance and corporate restructuring.
Mr. Amenyo also worked with African Management Services Company (AMSCO) in the Johannesburg Office, as a Project Officer and later as Senior Project Officer for about six (6) years, where he was in charge of business development in South Africa, Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo and he worked with several companies located in this region.
He also worked with AgenceFrançaise de Développement/PROPARCO and Merchant Bank Ghana Limited as Investment Officer and Deputy Manager respectively. Other institutions Amenyo had also previously worked for included the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ernst and Young and Pannell Kerr Forster.
He is a Chartered Accountant and holds MBA in Finance and BSc Administration from the University of Ghana. He also holds a certificate in Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis from John Deutsch International, Queen's University, Canada and Professional Project Management from the George Washington University Business School.
